Sweet Tahini Buns
Quick, easy, delicious, lightly-sweet flaky goodness.
Sweet Tahini Buns
adapted from the novice housewife
makes 12 buns
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 Tbs sesame seeds
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg + 1 Tbs water, whisked together (for egg wash)
flour for rolling out dough, if needed
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, combine tahini, brown sugar, sesame seeds, and salt. Stir well to combine.
3. Roll out the puff pastry dough to 10"x12", flouring the counter as needed.
4. Spread tahini mixture evenly across puff pastry, leaving a 1" margin on the long sides.
5. Roll dough tightly together, bringing the long sides together.
6. Cut into 12 equal pieces, and place cut-side down on the baking sheet.
7. Brush buns with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes, until deep golden.
8. Let buns cool on a wire rack for 2 minutes, and serve warm.
