Dog Toy Under Couch Prevention System

Do you have a dog, cat, and or child(s) who frequently get their toys stuck under the couch? Does dust, hair, and other things get stuck under there as well where the broom or Roomba can't easily reach?? No more!

I was inspired by this Sea Lemon video to find a solution. While I tried this solution, it unfortunately didn't work well for my couch.

My solution is a modification for couches with legs that don't easily allow for something to be wrapper around them, whether they are wide and/or tapered. In my case, both!

Cut with 2-3" extra on each end of PVC:

Pre-drilled, then screwed in:

Materials:
- 1/2" or 3/4" pipe insulation the length of your couch gaps. I used both and doubled them up to fill the entire couch gap, but you may only need the 1/2" if you have a smaller gap
- 3/4" straight PVC pipe, the length of your couch gaps + 2-3" extra on EACH end of every gap
- 2" or longer screws

Instructions:
1. Cut PVC pipe to the couch gap length PLUS 2-3" extra on each end so there's ample room so screw into couch
2. Cut pipe insulation to length of the couch gap.
3. Wrap cut pipe insulation around cut PVC pipe. Double wrap insulation if needed for taller gap.
4. Flip couch on side or upside down. Line up wrapped PVC pipe lengths, and pre-drill pipe and couch leg on one side. Drive in screw so pipe held on tight. Do with remaining sides.
5. Flip couches back over.
6. Profit.
